BASTION

A sculptural vessel with the presence of architecture and the patina of something already lived with.

Stoneware- Hand built

Bastion draws on the language of brutalist architecture through weight, repetition, and projecting structural planes. Built in stoneware, the form is articulated by deep vertical ribs that create alternating areas of shadow, reflection, and mass around the body.

Its antique gold glaze softens the severity of the structure, settling unevenly across edges and recessed surfaces so that the finish feels aged rather than polished. Light catches the raised planes while darker areas recede, allowing the piece to shift subtly throughout the day.

Large enough to hold a substantial arrangement or stand alone as a sculptural centrepiece, Bastion is less about delicacy than presence — a piece that gives the room weight without overpowering it.
