Interval
An exploration of support, openness and the changing geometry of space.

Interval explores the quiet relationship between structure, rhythm and light. Built entirely by hand, each horizontal plane and carved opening creates a measured sequence of spaces that shift as the viewer moves around the work. Light passes through the sculpture, casting changing shadows that become part of its composition.
Rather than treating solid form as the primary subject, Interval gives equal importance to what has been removed. The work becomes an exploration of balance between presence and absence, inviting the eye to travel through the object rather than simply rest upon its surface.
